On the night of the final Augustin performed ninth in the running order, following Germany and preceding Switzerland. At the close of voting "Die Ganze Welt Braucht Liebe" had received 8 points, placing Austria join fifth (with Belgium) of the 10 entries.
The Austrian entry was conducted at the contest by the musical director Willy Fantel.
Every country had a jury of ten people. Every jury member could give one point to his or her favourite song.
